The first actually Krispy Kreme shop where doughnuts were sold was opened in Wintson-Salem, NC by Vernon Rudolph, where the headquarters are currently located. The Rudolph family is from Nashville, TN and they produced Krispy Kreme Doughnuts that were sold in grocery stores prior to the first shop opening.
