Theme parks are actually derived for amusement parks which started life in Euro in the early Elizabethan era. The term THEME PARK is directly associated with an "amusment park" where specific thems (as per the name) are used to develop the rides. The first recorded as a theme park was Santa Claus Land (currently known as Holiday World & Splashin' Safari) located in Santa Claus, Indiana, this did not open until 1946
