Jellyfish are as resilient as humans, were both determined to survive. There greatest survival tactic is jellyfish automatically release there eggs when there about to die and they reproduce asexually. Jellyfish first appeared 500,000,000 years ago and were the first complex creatures (though by today's standards they are simple. Jellyfishes body don't fossilize because they have no bones and because of the soft jelly-like structure so we don't know exactly where the originated.
