The BMW 318ti does not have a conventional automatic transmission filler tube. There is a drain plug on the pan, and a refill plug on the opposite side of the pan. Dextron III is the common fluid, however the owners manual states that it is a "lifetime" fluid. To keep the original quality of the fluid you change, you should use Pentosin Yellow ZF at about $15 a ltr. The refill capasity is exactly 3 liters. You will need to have a pump of some sort to add the fluid to the refill tube.
