30th edition Gun Trader's Guide states from 1937-1958. If it does not have a full length ribbetween the barrels, it's a '49 or later.

According to Brophy in his book Marlin Firearms (1989 by Stackpole Books) marlin stopped production of model 90's in 1960 but they continued to be sold until 1963.

On page 417 of his book, Brophy wrote that the double trigger Model 90 was discontinued in 1957 and the single trigger model was discontinued in 1959, although sales of inventory continued until 1963. Model 90's made after WWII have a letter prefix in the serial number indicating the year made.

What is the value of a Marlin S double barrel breakdown shotgun made in the 1800s?

Actually made in the early 20th century. Model 19's are being traded in the $150-$200 range for a standard field grade gun. Marlin did offer these in different grades (G is not the grade, it's a version) and the higher grades are bringing more money to Marlin collectors. As a side note, the Marlin 19 is not suitable for firing with any form of modern ammunition.

Do you have any info on a Ranger over under model 103 1?

Made by Marlin for Sears, and is basically the same as the Marlin Model 90. Guns made prior to WW2 were marked 'Ranger.' Should have separated barrels, with no side ribs, and no top rib. Probably double triggers, although Marlin put out a single trigger model under their own brand name. Nice shotguns, although repairs should absolutely be left to a good gunsmith with the ability to machine parts. sales@countrygunsmith.net The blue book of gun Values is wrong. Marlin Model 90's made prior to 1949 were solid between the barrels. Guns made after 1949 had separated barrels. . According to brophy, in his book Marlin Firearms (1989 by Stackpole books0 the Ranger 103-10 is a .410 Marlin Model 90 O/U shotgun. Single trigger model 90's were introduced in 1954. If sears sold them they would have been under the JC Higgins brand.

50-150 USD or so Ranger 103-1 was made by Marlin and is the same gun as the Marlin Model 90. If you can get one for $150, I say buy it!. If the the gun is a shooter and in reasonable shape, should be worth at least $250.
