Sometime after rocky 2, devoted fan Jim Rolin wrote a letter to the producer. In part it read, "I sincerely enjoyed Rocky 2, but I feel things could've been done better. For instance, there should be much more special effects. A pyrotechnic display would be awesome!" Naturally, not all of Rolin's seventy-seven page letter was used by the producers, but his was the idea. He also mentioned ideas for Rocky 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8.
