The Church was considered to have been born from the side of Christ when the soldier opened his side with a lance and blood and water flowed out. It was formally started at Pentecost, fifty days later, when the Holy Spirit descended on the apostles to confirm them in all truth and lead them to preach to and baptize all nations.
The Catholic Church dates from about the year 33 AD at Pentecost when the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples and inspired them to start spreading the Good News given them by Our Lord.
