When was the sinking Arizona battleship?
I was during the battle of Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked.
The USS Arizona was a battleship located on Battleship Row on the morning of December 7, 1941. On the morning of the Pearl Harbor attack by the Japanese, she exploded when her magazine was hit, sinking nearly instantly, killing 1177 crewmen onboard. These men were among the first casualties of World War 2 suffered by the United States.
The battleship USS Utah also rests on the bottom of Pearl Harbor; the Utah was redesignated a training/target ship, but still contains the bodies of over 50 US Sailors. The battleship USS Oklahoma rests on the Pacific Ocean floor between Hawaii and California after sinking while under tow. The battleship USS Arizona rests on the bottom, containing over 1,000 US Sailors inside her hull.
