Epeus
The god Thoth, according to Egyptian mythology, invented the enema.
Mythology is the ancient religion of the people of a region - in the case, Greece - there is no way of knowing whom invented them, but its to be taken that by the time of Homer they were known as deities associated with sailors not returning or dying at sea by drowning during a storm or in calm weather.
You probably mean Daedalus, the inventor, and his son, Icarus? Daedalus was the one who invented king Minos's maze, and was then locked into it so he couldn't tell anyone how to solve it. He then invented wings for him and his son to escape.

Mercury was a god of Roman mythology. He's the equivalent of Hermes, the messenger of the gods and the god of travelers, thieves, etc. in Greek mythology. The word come from Mercury's name. It means lively or quickly changing.
