∙ 13y agoIt depends on the version your looking for. The original was an Irish folk song and was redone about 15 times. The most memorable were Thin Lizzy on Vagabonds of the Western World. That version was covered by Metallica on Garage Inc.

Garage inc. Was kik ass. As are the rest of their CD's but that's just my personal opnion. Garage Inc. was all covers they made. They had some really good covers in there such as Whiskey In The Jar and also Turn The page. in addition whiskey in the jar cover won the best rock performance Grammy award
