Thin Lizzy
Thin Lizzy recorded there cover of Whisky in the Jar in 1973. This traditional Irish folk song was first recorded by Seamus Ennis in 1951. The song has had many different versions dating back to the first version called whiskey in the jar in 17th century.
It depends on the version your looking for. The original was an Irish folk song and was redone about 15 times. The most memorable were Thin Lizzy on Vagabonds of the Western World. That version was covered by Metallica on Garage Inc.
Hope this helps.

I could be the Elvis did Whiskey in the Jar. The Thin lIzzy version is from 1973 and The King died in 77. But most likey the "Elvis version" foundon the internet is from Elvis inpersonator Jim Brown. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5BTgNv9_Vg I think its save to say that the real KING never sung a version of Whiskey in the jar !! By the way the song is not from Thin LIzzy, it's a traditional Irish song, Thin Lizzy made a great rock version of it. Greetings, Herr-Flick from Holland
