A:New Testament scholars say that several books of the New Testament were written during the first half of the second century, in spite of their traditional attribution to the apostles of Jesus. The Epistle of Jude clearly self-identifies as a second-century writing. The Second Epistle of Peter has to be later than Jude, as it contains nearly all the text of that epistle, although the apostle Peter himself would never have needed to use material from another's letter. 2 Peter is probably the last New Testament book to have been written and is dated between 124 to 150 CE.
