Rainbows are multicolored because the white light is refracted spliting it apart into its individual colors
because the sun is of the shape and the rain drops from which white light enters are of the shape.
Rainbows are caused by light refracting off moisture drops in the air and the colors are caused by the fact different colors ( wavelengths) of light are refracted by different amounts. A rainbow is caused by light being refracted from tiny water droplets in the air. When it rains or there is a mist all the tiny water droplets refract sunlight like a prism (a triangular piece of glass). Refracted means the light of the sun is split up into its basic colors. Sunlight is actually a combination of Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple. When these colors are all combined they look white, which is what sunlight usually looks like to us. There is also other light energy from the sun like Infrared which makes sunlight hot and Ultra Violet which makes you tan or sunburn. You can not see Infrared or Ultra Violet because the human eye is not designed to see them. But some creatures can. To see a rainbow, there should be a little rain or moisture in the sky and the Sun should be shining behind you.
A rainbow is made when light travels through rain drops and is broken up into its counterparts. White light is made up of all colors, when it is shined through a prism it is broken up. A perfect example is the Pink Floyd album cover "Dark Side of the Moon. There's a little physics lesson for you. Natural phenomenon (light reflected and refracted off water droplets in air) give rise to rainbows. (The sun is always behind the observer facing a rainbow, isn't it?) That's how. Why? Two possible answers. 1. Because. 2. Rainbows need no reason to exist. They just do.
who invented the white light
white light
Red is refracted most and violet is refracted the least when white light passes through a prism.
It is called the spectrum of white light.
White light is made by all the colours creating constructive interference. When light passes through water, the light is refracted but they are all refracted differently creating a spectrum of the colours making white light, a rainbow.
Refraction. White light is made up of coloured components with different frequencies, which are refracted to different angles when passing through the prism. Blue light is refracted the most, whereas red is refracted the least. This allows us to see the entire spectrum of visible light.
The light is refracted (bent) causing it to separate into different colors.
The violet (higher frequency) light.
Polar bear skin is black and the fur is actually clear, lacking in pigment. The white appearance is the result of light being refracted from the clear hair strands.
White light is made up of different colors. When white light enters water (like moisture in the air) it is bent (refracted). However the different colors are bent (refracted) by different amounts. So this different amount of bending has the effect of separating the white light into its colors and we see this as a rainbow.lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
A rainbow is formed when sun light from behind you is refracted {bent} ,dispersed and reflected from the rain drops in front of you.Red colour is seen at the outside of the bow.Violet light is sen at the inner side of the bow.In a rainbow, the angle between the sun and the rain drops and the eye is about 42 degrees
Rainbows are multicolored because the white light is refracted spliting it apart into its individual colors
The violet colour will be refracted the most, it has a shorter wave length and a higher frequency. The red light will be refracted the least, with its longer wave length and lower frequency.
