Probably never. The Baltimore-Washington D.C. Maglev project is a proposal from the United States cities of Baltimore, Maryland and Washington, D.C. to build a 39.8 mile (64 km) maglev train system between their respective central business districts. The maglev was originally intended to help Baltimore and Washington win the bid to host the 2012 Summer Olympics. The maglev would connect Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport and the two cities. The original time line called for revenue service to begin in 2010. However, the project has not gone beyond studying and feasabilty. Legislative snags 2004, 2005 and 2006 further crippled the effort. Occasionally legislators make reference to the project but nothing substantial has been done to make it a reality. There is no expected completion date at this time.
