When will Iowa legalize marijuana?

after all the democratic states most likely. republicans are not known for intelligence or caring for the people

Marijuana legalization is a hot thorny issue and not surprisingly will face a very strong opposition. Perhaps the reason why marijuana has not become legal its because of its tainted reputation do to the faulty propaganda of the government.( lobbied by the pharmaceutical industry )

they can't make money off a plant you grow in your yard, so it had to be outlawed. it was used by almost every doctor in the world prior to marijuana prohibition and the rewriting of medical texts.

One must understand that if you want to legalize marijuana you have to give reasons and also benefits it will bring if it becomes legalized.

In other words why should we legalized marijuana?

1) cure's cancer and relieves pain. does not damage the kidneys like Tylenol does in opiate pills

Oxycontin would be 1000 times safer if they removed the Tylenol

2) the sell of marijuana could be taxed by local or state governments to help fund state assistance programs or fun public projects or build schools or even help balance state budgets.

3) Drug related crimes will decrease due to its legalization.

4) It can create jobs by using marijuana as an paper alternative and and clothing product.

5) safer than almost any over the counter medication aspirin has killed more people in 1 year than pot has in 10000

6) prison owners will be crying over no more easy to control pot smokers in jail, pot growers get more time than rapists and killers. rape a girl and get 1 year, grow a plant and get life is disturbing.

7) billions of dollars that was wasted on the drug war could now be spent on education

You just have to weight the good and bad, and after you understand that you will get your answer to your question not of "When" but of "Why?"
