In a trip to America John Flanagan announced his long awaited plan for Book #12 of the rangers series. He said that he always wanted to end the sieries with Will having a female apprentice. He said he will write more books on brotherband, and in book 11 he mentioned Halt and Crowleys first meeting. Apparently he said it was a test and he liked it. He announced that he will write a series on that.

There is not going to be a book twelve. There were ten books and then John Flanagan wrote the Lost Stories (which some people consider as book 11) to answer any unanswered questions. He is currently writing the Brotherband Chronicles as a spin-off series to Ranger's Apprentice.
What is the reading level of the Rangers Apprentice series?
Rangers apprentice is a middle level reading book with loads of entertainment, i was about 12 when i 1st came acroos the series and managed the series no worries, if you want the reading level compaired to other books, it is not as difficult as say, Lord of The Rings or Harry Potter, but more the skill requirement of, say, Goosebumps series or the Skulduggery Plesant series. There will certainly be a book 11, at least 2 or 3 more in fact. John Flanagan left too much open at the end of book ten for there to be no further books. Horace and Evanlyn's wedding, Alyss and Will whatever ect. There will certainly be more books.

There will be no Ranger's Apprentice 12. The Lost Stories, Ranger's Apprentice 11, is the last one, intended to wrap up unanswered questions and give our main character, Will Treaty, and his lover, Alyss Marnwing, a happy ending.The book also helps set up the stage for Flanagans' new series Brotherband, set in Skandia following the story of a half-Skandian half-Arualen teenage boy, who designed the new sail set Heron.
