The deer rut usually begins in the first or second week of November in all of GA. I shot an 8 pointer in Athens GA on November 8th 2007 and the deer were rutting hard that day. Generally, it will be at the first of November but cold snaps and food availability can affect it too. I have come to find that it lasts a good two weeks here and CAN vary in different sections of the state. Hope this helps...
