Not only possible, but likely. The age of puberty for boys and girls is getting younger due to better nutrition, overall better health. From Web MD: "Boys are entering puberty at an average age of 10 among whites and Hispanics, and at an average age of 9 among African-Americans. About a third of boys start to mature sexually up to two years earlier than average."

∙ 15y agoMost boys have started the beginning stages of puberty by age 11, even if it is not immediately apparent. Subtle changes may include soreness or tenderness of the nipples, darkening of the scrotal skin, enlargement of the testicles, and the development of soft, straight, non-pigmented vellus hair in the pubic region which may be barely visible. It is not unusual for a boy at this age to start to exhibit other signs of puberty too, including developement of body odor, or minor acne breakouts. Puberty is not something that happens over a weekend, but rather, an ongoing process that begins in the pre-teen years and extends well into the later teens. It is not regarded as completed until the growth plates on the long bones close and growing stops. If a young, pre-teen boy is exhibiting advanced pubertal signs, such as a deep voice, copious pubic, body or underarm hair, excessive or disproportionate growth of limbs, or anything beyond the norm, then he should be seen by his pediatrician to rule out any hormonal disturbances.
