Adobe is trying to put it on the iphone. It's trying to get to the app store now.

that is a lie apple do not support flash at all including macs

actually they did at one time and someone was making a flash app called frash for iphone and iPod touch back in 2009 but apple then decided not to let any flash be put on the appstore so development stopped. but if you have a jailbroken ipod you can get the frash 0.02 app on cydia but it only works with ios 3.1-4.0 though some people have got it working with ios 4.1

Currently, it looks like Flash Player will never be available for the iPod Touch.

Apple prefers to use what is known as HTML5, and not so much Flash Player. Speculators think that Apple wants to control the market, since it already has control over the mp3 and smart phone market with the iPod Touch and iPhone, by using HTML5 instead of Flash, and not using Flash Player.

Apple and Adobe have not come to an agreement of the use of Flash Player for the iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad, and most likely will never reach one, so the most likely answer will be never.

Apple has not and likely will not approve code for an Adobe Flash player for the iPad. They have claimed many times, correctly, that Flash objects and applications take too much processing power and limit the battery life on mobile devices. Instead of this proprietary format, they have embraced the industry-standard HTML 5, which can do video and audio streaming and other Flash-type things.

Update: Development of Flash for allmobile devices was officially ended in November 2011 as maker Adobe announced it was going to concentrate on HTML5. HTML6 is a soon to come which will only be released on ANDROID and UBUNTU devices on early 2016. The only way to get Flash NOW is to really get UBUNTU and rewrite your iOS.

Unfortunately, HTML5 won't be finalised until July 2014, so current support varies depending on which web browser you use with some having more complete implementations than others. Browser support should continue to improve right up until the standard is finalised, by which time they should all - in theory - support all of the new features.

Probably never. Even phones that have Flash player are not able to use it for anything more than embedded videos (which the iPhone can access using the YouTube plug-in) everything else will just say "not available on mobile"
