You are actually travelling to another island* (which is actually a simulation of the Pop Art Museum on the real Early Poptropica). When you receive the message, get in the Poptropica blimp and go there.*This was the first island where you would leave the island during a quest. This idea was later used for the Spook Central promotional game for Ghost Story Island. In 2012, a cross-islands theme was used for the first Poptropica game for the DS, Poptropica Adventures.
In the Spook Central game, the Bell witch is inside the Trading post in Dusty Gulch.
(This is part of the Spook Central Game, not Wild west island) She is in the Trading Post. Jump toward her when she passes the trader's desk.
Based on the number of of people who post question on this site about it, it seems to be quite popular. In my opinion, poptropica is an OK game. it is fun when new islands come up. poptropica isn't a very bad game after all

The plasma net was a feature of the Spook Central demo game form November 2011. It was replaced by the full island Ghost Story Island in January, 2012, and has not been available since that time. Only paid monthly members could complete the game, which involved capturing ghosts on 5 different islands (not actually the islands used in regular play, but truncated versions of them).
This is part of the Spook Central Game. The witch flies around inside the Trading Post, and you can catch her when she passes either side of the trader's desk.
There was no demo. There was a game called "Spook Central" that featured a hunt for ghosts on 5 other islands. It was discontinued when the island was released. (see related question)
