Unfortunately, I won't be getting a wand. But normally one gets a letter of invitation to Hogwarts (and I'm assuming other wizarding schools choose the same age) when one is eleven years old. Then they would go get the necessary equipment, such as a wand. So there you go. Eleven years old.
