Other than making a killing by selling the Nazi's weapons, armour and munitions, they sped up the defeat against Hitler. If he had not opened a second front against the Russians on the east he may well have been successful, but the climate conditions meant his technology failed and shear power of the Soviets was enough to give the Allies the upper hand. As the war was on track to be won, the Americans came in and sped up the process.
