In the US, women had the theoretical right to run for President from the time they got the right to vote in Federal Elections, around 1923.
Women are allowed to run for president. A woman has not yet passed the primaries yet. A woman will be a very competent leader.

If Washington has refused to be president, bast guess is that John Adams who finished second in the first election would have won the first election.
The Equal Rights Party, in 1872, selected Victoria Woodhull as their candidate to run for President of the US, even though women did not even have the right to vote yet. Fifteen hundred men and women nominated Woodhull by acclamation.
There have been no female presidents as of yet, but there have been women who have run for president.
No one should run the world. If anyone would run the world, it would have to be women. No offense to men, but women have never had the same rights as men. From George Washington to Barrack Obama, all the presidents have been men. Women should stand up for themselves. Take a stand, and the next president of the US should be a woman!
Hillary Clinton was the one who ran in 2008 :)
