The return address on a letter identifies the address of the person writing the letter. It is typically placed at the top left corner of the envelope or letter.

The senders address in a letter, is located in the upper left corner. This shows the person who receives the letter, who has sent it.
I'm guessing your talking about the envelope first put the address you want to mail it to on the center of the front side then put a return address on the top left corner then put a stamp on the top right corner

To write a letter to the British embassy you first put your address. Next you put the date you are writing the letter then the address of the British embassy before finally writing the content of the letter.
if you are sending a letter on the right hand corner you write the address of whom this letter is for then on the other line you write dear remember at the end of your letter to write sincerely, love, your friend, etc.
