The thermostat may have been installed backwards. It only opens one way. problem solved it was caused by an air lock thanks.
Is thermostat opening? Is system airbound? Is water pump circulating coolant?
If the pump is not circulating coolant insure that the thermostat is not stuck closed. If the thermostat is ok then the pump will have to be replaced.
1. water pump failure 2. thermostat stuck in the closed position.
i am guessing, you mean circulating thru engine and radiator.if this is the problem, check the thermostat then check water pump.
Coolant at proper level? System air bound and needs to be purged? Water pump not circulating coolant? Defective thermostat? Collapsed radiator hose?
check the thermostat and/or water pump. also, the radiator could be plugged.
The thermostat opens and lets the water start circulating through the radiator at about 190 deg. There is a sending unit in the block that sends the tenperature of the coolant to the temp gauge.
Low coolant? Cooling fan not working? Water pump not circulating water? System airbound? Radiator plugged or restricted? Thermostat not fully opening?
Make sure your cooling fans are coming on and that your water is circulating through your radiator and hoses are not clogged. You may want to try and flush your cooling system
Failed thermostat.
Low coolant? Thermostat stuck open? System air bound? Heater core plugged or restricted? Water pump not circulating coolant?
Low coolant? Cooling fan not working? Bad thermostat? Cooling system airbound? Water pump not circulating coolant? Radiator core plugged or restricted? Bad radiator cap?
