There is something wrong with it. Or you have one serious engine under the hood
throttle module under hood attached to the intake manifold needs replaced
Check the power steering fluid level under the hood.
It's very likely you have a leaky heater core.
Vacuum leak in a/c door control system . Look for vacuum leak under the hood.
i had the same problem last week. u press the button that's below the e-break button under the wheel, and u'll hear the hood pop. under the Benz hood ordainment ull see some thing poping out on the grill. pull it to u and life the hood/

Look below the glove compartment, near the passenger door. There is a little clip that you pull towards you and you will hear the hood pop. Walk to the front of your car and run your fingers lightly under the hood and you will find the catch to release the hood.

If it same as 94 Discovery then the bonnet/hood release latch is located hard left side under the glovebox. A 'T' pull toggle, grasp firmly and pull towards you (towards rear of vehicle) and you will hear (feel if unable to hear) the bonnet/hood unlatch. Then release your grasp and walk to front of vehicle where it is recommended to raise bonnet/hood slightly and (on my model) reach under the slightly raised b/h and move the locking latch slightly to the right and then raise bonnet/hood.
