no net force
Equal forces acting on an object in opposite directions are called balanced forces. If they are on the same line of action, they are called couple forces.
If they were to collide their equal but opposite energy would cancel out.
The two forces are of the same magnitude, act in opposite directions, and act on different objects.
Because NOT all forces are equal and opposite. By Newton's Third Law, if object A attracts object B, then object B also attracts object A - with an equal but opposite force. But those forces act on DIFFERENT objects! The forces on object A, and on object B, may be unbalanced!Because NOT all forces are equal and opposite. They can't. The vector sum of equal and opposite forces is zero, and they can't produce any acceleration at all.
Displacement, Work, etc. Force becomes zero as it becomes balanced.

Balanced forces
What are forces of equal strength acting in opposite directions on an object called
Balanced, or in equilibrium
Cancel
These forces are called frictional forces. (: My source is the Physical Science with Earth science textbook, Chapter 3. (:

Zero
I supose in laymans language the forces would be referred to as equal and opposite reactions. In fact your question answers itself , but it is an intelligent question.
