When you are having your fortune told and they say -incarnation- what does it mean?

When telling someone's fortune, be it cartography (with cards, including Tarot) palmistry (by reading the lines of a person's hands), scrying (glazing into a crystal ball, dark mirror, bowl or flame) or other forms; sometimes the reader will "see" things from previous incarnations (from the belief the soul does not die with the body but continues to inhabit many bodies through the centuries in its search for enlightenment).
So if the reader says "previous incarnation", they mean not in this lifetime but a different one, from your soul's past.
If they say "this incarnation", they mean within your current lifetime.
In rare instances they may refer to "future incarnations", which means after you leave this life and your soul is reborn.
