When putting files in recycle bin and later wish to recover them they are gone and I haven't deleted them why?

The only way I know of stopping stuff going into the Bin when I delete it is to hold down the Shift key when deleting.

∙ 11y agoUsually, they're not completely erased. The system simply removes the link to the files so that they disappear and can be written over. That is why special programs such as diskdigger are able to recover deleted files that don't even appear in the recycle bin. Other means of more permanent deletion are available. There are even free ones such as Cybershredder.

∙ 10y agoNothing. The files remain exactly where they are the only action 'emptying the recycle bin' performs is to remove the address tag from the files so that the memory space can be reused. Until something else is stored over the top of the file you deleted the file will remain you just cant see it in the normal way. This is why data can still be retrieved after deletion and good security protocols will tell you to overwrite all deleted files so that they are iretrievable.

∙ 15y agoOlder files are also removed from the Recycle Bin when newer files are deleted and the Recycle Bin exceeds the maximum size allocated in Recycle Bin properties.

If you havent set up time machine on your mac can you still recover old files?
To recover old files you will need to have saved them somewhere. Time Machine is software that automates the saving process so you do not have to think about it. There is software that may be able to salvage material that has been saved and then deleted but this will not always work as some of the file may have been written over and permanently lost. (See links below)

Where can an accidentally deleted file be if not in the recycle bin and the recycle bin has not been emptied?
When you delete a file in the windows world, the file is not physically removed from the disk, but the space it occupied is just flagged as being empty. In actuality what happens is the file name is changed and the data will remain so long as no new data is overwritten on that space. So, providing you havent saved a lot of new files, or moved files around a lot (such as a defrag) the data should still be intact on the disk. There are several freeware & shareware programs out there for recovering deleted files. Google something along the lines of "freeware undelete" There are no guarantees, its a largely hit & miss affair. Even in ideal conditions, I've found i can succsessfully recover files about 50% of the time. Be advised, however, that the process of downloading & installing any new software (including the undelete programs i just mentioned) may overwrite the data you're hoping to recover. If you have any way to run that undelete program without writing anything to your hard disk... such as running it from a thumb drive or cdrom.... it would greatly increase your odds of actually getting your lost file(s) back.

well... i think i have gotten my male to except two other females by putting them in a bigger tank. ( i have 5 gal. tank) or i think i had gotten the male to except a female by putting them in a smaller devider tank (half gallon) if your asking about breeding them... i havent found out how to do that either. heh heh
