No, any wire that I know of that comes with the camera to plug into the computer is purely for downloading the SD card information, as an alternative to having to take out the SD card and manually plug it in. Then find the file on the card, which should look like a directory or folder on your computer, then just drag-n'-drop! OR use software that came with your Canon to get the video off of the card.
