The act of inhaling is to create low pressure in the lungs, causing the air in the atmosphere to rush in as it is moving from a higher pressure (outside in the atmosphere) to the lower pressure (created in the lungs). However the fact that air does move into the lungs means that there is no net change in pressure.

How do pressure and temperature change inside earth as depth increase?

both temperature and pressure increase as you go down inside earth. hi I am epic

How can air pressure be changed?

Using the equation P1V1/T1 = P2V2/T2 we find there are two variables we might influence in order to change the pressure of a gas. (P=pressure, V=volume, T=temperature in degrees Kelvin) By increasing or decreasing the temperature of the bottle, you can increase or decrease the pressure within. If the bottle is made of a flexible material, like plastic, you can apply pressure to the bottle. By either squeezing the bottle or increasing atmospheric pressure outside, you deform the bottle and decrease it's volume. Since the quantity of gas inside the bottle is constant, the decrease in volume increases the pressure. Likewise to decrease the pressure in a sealed flexible bottle, you can decrease air pressure outside.

Temperature and pressure increase with depth inside Earth - True or False?

True. Temperature and pressure both increase with increasing depth within the Earth.

How does the temperature and pressure change inside the earth moving downward from crust to core?

both temperature and pressure increase

What will change the size of the weather balloon as it rises?

The pressure of the air inside it. The higher the balloon rises, the lower the outside air-pressure. With less pressure outside, the balloon expands because of the pressure of the air inside it. Eventually, the balloon bursts, and scientists recover the instruments when they fall to earth.

What will happen to the pressure inside the container if the volume of a container of gas is reduced?

The pressure inside the container will increase. Pressure (P) is force(F) divided by the area(A) it hits on. If you decrease the area, you increase the pressure.

What would decrease the pressure inside a tank of helium gas?

decrease the temperature or increase the volume

What happens to the pressure inside the lungs as the volume of the thorax increase?

As your diaphragm expands, the pressure in your thoracic cavity decreases. Air rushes into the partial vacuum, and you inhale.

Do you in hale or exhale when the volume of the chest cavity increases?

The air pressure in your chest cavity increases when you are exhaling. For air to leave your lungs, it must be at a higher pressure than the air outside. Your diaphragm pushes up against your chest cavity causing the space in your lungs to get smaller. If the volume decreases, the pressure has to rise. Don't believe me? start exhaling, then close your mouth. Your cheeks will puff out because the pressure inside is greater than the pressure outside.

How do you inhale and exhale in the respiratory system?

by the air pressure we have inside our lungs

Increasing the size of the thoracic cavity causes?

inhalation/inhale it also causes a decrease pressure in thoraces cavity and pleural cavity

What would happen to the pressure if you cooled down the container?

The pressure inside the container would decrease.

What will you observe about the temperature of a fixed amount of air inside a rigid container if the pressure inside decreases?

it will decrease

How does the diaphragm help during inhale and exhale?

When it contracts it causes a very significant increase in the volume of the thorax, thus reducing the pressure inside and causing negative pressure in relation to outside. Hence air moves inwards, due to the pressure difference and thus inhallation is accomplished. The reverse occurs in exhallation.

True or false as heat is applied to a closed container containing a gas the pressure inside the container will decrease?

false; it will increase; Boyle's law says P1V1/T1 = P2V2/T2
