biceps and triceps respectively
The biceps brachii muscle will contract, pulling the lower arm up.
When you flex your arm your biceps contract, and your triceps extend. And when you unflex your arm the triceps contract and you biceps extend. The muscles work together to allow you to move your body.
The biceps brachii muscle will contract, pulling the lower arm up.
When your biceps contract (and your triceps relax), your arm bends at the elbow. When your triceps contract (and your biceps relax), your arm straightens. The biceps and triceps enable you to bend or extend your arm at the elbow.
The bicep is in you arm from your elbow to your shoulder
Due the pair of Biceps and Triceps our Muscles move. If biceps stop contracting and triceps contract so we will be able to move but our some muscles of arm would not move.
When you bend your arm, your biceps contract, or tighten. When you straighten your arm in a relaxed position your biceps retract.
The biceps flexes the arm it does not extend it (straightens). The triceps brachii extends the arm. They do work together. If one is damaged and doesn't work as it should, the movement will be "jerky" and not smooth.
The biceps muscle is located in the front area of the upper arm. The biceps muscle helps to stabilize the large bone in the upper arm (the humerus) in the shoulder socket. It also helps to accelerate and decelerate the arm during overhead activities, like tennis or pitching. The biceps tendons keep the biceps muscle attached to the shoulder at one end and the elbow at the other end. Tendons are strong cord-like structures that connect each end of the biceps muscle to bones. At one end of the biceps muscle, tendons connect the biceps to the shoulder in two places. At the other end of the muscle, tendons connect the biceps muscle to the smaller bone (radius) in the lower arm. Source:AAOS
The triceps and biceps are antagonistic muscle groups; the triceps straighten the arm and the biceps pull it in the opposite way. Therefore, when the triceps contract, the biceps lengthen.
to move arm upwards, the biceps contracts. Triceps don't do any work here~
