go 2 itunes and buy em!
If this has happened to all your files it because you've moved them (renamed directory containing music) or your iTunes library is corrupt. If you moved your files you can use something like dreamweaver to do a search and replace on the XML library file and update the worng path to each file with the correct one. If you have a Mac, you can use tool that automatically fixes this by Spotlighting lost files: http://itunes.pornel.net/
No all of your stuff will be there.
When there is an iTunes update, it does not remove your music, movies, etc. All will be intact when the new iTunes has finished installing.
Yes. However if you download iTunes again you will just be updating it to the newest version. No music will be lost. You can use the Check For Updates option in the iTunes menu which will give you the latest version. Or check Software Update from the Apple menu which will check all your default software for newer versions.

There is. Plug your iPod into your computer and then wait for it to come onto your iTunes. Click on your iPod and then under all the details it should have an update and a restore button. I think this only happens if you have a 4.1 version of iTunes though.
If you copy files to iTunes Library, you will have 2 copies of the file on your computer. iTunes can play files that are not in the iTunes Library. It makes a link to them, like an alias. For example, if you download a song, it might be in your downloads folder. If you let iTunes copy it to the iTunes Library, it will be in your downloads folder and your iTunes Library. If you delete the song from the downloads folder, it will still be in your iTunes Library, and iTunes can still play it. If you don't copy it to your iTunes Library, and delete it from the downloads folder, iTunes will not be able to play it. You should set up iTunes so that it takes care of the files the way you wish. Don't try to arrange the files yourself by dragging them or copying them yourself into the iTunes Library folder. If you do that you might not see them in iTunes because the iTunes database has not been updated by iTunes. This is also true if you move files between the iTunes album or artist folders. Let iTunes do it and it will maintain the database and you can play all your music.
No, I had 2 update itunes because it didnt have the software for an ipod touch. When i updated it, all my songs where still there.
You can't with iTunes but you can download a software called iDump which lets you transfer music from your iPod to iTunes.
Open up iTunes and import by using add songs/tracks to the iTunes library. Then iTunes will search your computer for all music tracks and put them in iTunes for you. The tracks will also be converted to AAC files (apple music files), and they should be synced also to all your iDevices via the cloud.
If you cant get your files to "drag" to your itunes. then Open your itunes and in the file menu click add folder to library. this will add all the files in that folder to your itunes library as long as they are Songs or videos. No more Dragging:) *I can neither confirm or deny the use of P2P Software on my computer.*
