Even though it is completely healed you still should clean it. You don't have to as much as when you first got it but it still can get infected and you should just clean it in the shower and do soaks every once in a while.

A belly button piercing can be a lot of fun, but it must be kept absolutely clean. It is a piercing that is easily infected, and when it does get infected, it's pretty bad. After getting pierced, clean the area twice a day (as well as after the shower, after swimming in the beach, etc). Also know that after the belly button ring is removed, there will be a small scar that can stretch (permanently) during pregnancy.
if everything is clean and you know what your doing , yes if not leave it to the pros
If the piercing is recent, very carefully, once it is healed, you can clean it as usual.
I never got lightheaded when i cleaned mine. I only did when i took mine out and changed it. Everyone is different in their piercing though.
If it's less than 2 months, no. If its older, you don't have to but you can.
cleaning your body piercing with saline solution is very important for the healing process i have my nose and belly button pierced and used saline for both and they healed wonderfully :) Fact of the matter is simple, saline will not "clean" a piercing. Saline will soften the dried matter the piercing generates however it will not clean the piercing. Irrigation under running water while moving the jewellery will do more for cleaning than just soaking the piercing in Saline.
If they piercing had not fully healed before you took the jewellery out it could become infected. If the inital piercing had healed, the soreness and redness should go do on its own. You can help it by using ice, and keeping the area clean.
well when your belly button is very deep and you dont clean it often things can build up and get infected, what would help is fingering your belly button with a q-tip or your finger and cleaning it, if there is an infection you should see your doctor.
Soap and water is the best thing to clean your body with! You can also use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or Hibiclens if you want something stronger to clean with.
