Whenever I try to trade between Pokemon emerald and fire red it says you can't trade with that TRAINER now Why?

Actually, You have to defeat the Elite Four in both games. and it's national Dex
I don't know about emerald, but in firered, you need to beat the elite four and have 50 Pokemon caught, with that done, you will get the national dex from the elite four. On island 1, you need to get both the ruby and sapphire to Cellio, or whatever his name is. That allows you to trade.
