Something to to with file types. I have the same problem on a clean install of XP sp2 on an amilo pro laptop
No If you open a doc from your flash drive in Word (for example) then it will be read into memory but will not be stored on the hard drive, unless you do Save As... and write it out to somewhere on C: (assuming your HDD is C:, most are)
some thing wrong with my computer when I try to open C drive it is asking for the open with but if i type \ in run command it is opning.

By double-clicking it.
go to start in left hand corner,open click on my computer, click on hp-pavilion c - will open the "c" drive
Follow these steps: A. Please use DOS command to delete autorun.inf file. C:\>attrib -S -H -R C:\autorun.inf C:\>del /F C:\autorun.inf Replace C with your drive that you want to disable autorun of. B. To prevent future infection, make a blank autorun.inf for each drive: - Open notepad and Save As “autorun.inf”. - Place the autorun.inf in the affected drive. C. However, since you already double click the C drive, or D drive, there is a high chance your computer has been infected, even though you have just reformatted your C drive when you doubleclick D drive. You have to again dismantle your harddrive from the PC, and let another computer scan all the volumes in the harddrive for safety.
If you have two explorer windows open, one for the c drive and one for the e drive, just highlight all the files you want to transfer and drag them over the the e drive window.

The letter used by Windows XP (ie a, b, c, d, e etc) is essentially a reference. By default, letters 'a' and 'b' are floppy drives and drive 'c' is the hard drive that the operating systems (Windows XP in this case) is stored. The other letters are used whenever Windows XP detects another drive. if you have a CD/DVD drive in your computer it is liekly to be displayed as drive 'd'.

To view the files, you go to C:/Windows/ and the files are in their. Easiest way to open it
