The computer was invented initially as a code breaking machine, using algorythms, and then was sold to the public originally, as it was illegal to sell code breakers, as they were often used to listen to secure lines within governments.
I believe it was invented within England, however i am not certain.

∙ 13y agoConrad zuze in the mid 1940's. Initally they were used primarily by the government and defense department. They were huge compared to today and not very powerful. The first computers were the size of a small warehouse. The computer used in 1969 by NASA for the first moon missions wasn't as powerful as a cell phone is today.
