Osiris was mainly worshiped in Abydos which was believed to be wear his body was buried. Most of the old kingdom tombs are located in Abydos for the same reason. Mainly Osiris was a very important god and he was worshiped through out the ancient Egyptian civilization.
Ramses II was an Egyptian Pharaoh. The Egyptians worshiped a pantheon of gods headed by Ra and Osiris. Ramses II worshiped the whole pantheon to one extent or another, as did the population as a whole.

It was because of the Osiris myth that Egyptains believed they had the right to be transformed and to live eternity in the Afterlife. Osiris becomes important with all aspects to do with death including burial rituals and mummification. Osiris was commonly known as the God of the Dead, however he was also worshiped in vegetation, sun, rain and re-birth.
Goddess of health, marriage and wisdom (Isis) was married to Osiris. She was one of the oldest Egyptian pagan goddess and is still worshiped by many religions.

Isis and Osiris were among the most important and worshiped deities in the Egyptian pantheon. They were husband and wife and brother and sister and loved each other very much. They had a son - Horus whose uncle Seth (Osiris's brother) was very evil. He envied Osiris and wanted to kill him. Set convinced Osiris to go into a coffin as part of some ritual. Then he sealed the coffin and threw it into the river Nile. When Isis found out what happened she got really sad and tried to rescue her husband. He was dead but Thoth (the god of wisdom) managed to help Osiris and made him a ruler of the Afterlife (because of his resurrection).
