You can buy akai televisions wherever akai television sets are sold. Try Wal-Mart or Target, if nothing else, try ebay.com or amazon.com for best prices.
Akai TVs are ok. They are certainly not the best. They do not compare to Sony and Samsung TVs but the are very adequate and would be a good addition to your house.
this question can not be awnserd for this depends on how it broke
According to their Tech Support who I called yesterday regarding remote codes, Akai made the TV's until about 2 years ago. Now they say that Viore manufactures much of the TV with some of the major components manufactured by Samsung. It was made by a company called Akai. Their web site is below.
http://www.akai.com/product.asp This link should provide you with manufacturers of AKAI TV's. Contact the manufacturer directly to locate the manual you need.

Unsure of the parent company, which is in China. Akai made the TVs until about two years ago and now they make their own components, with the primary ones being made by Samsung according to their tech support. They also recommended using Samsung's remote codes which worked great for me....finally!
The least expensive brands for HD televisions are the 'off brands', such as Akai. While these brands work perfectly well, they often do not have all the feature of mainstream brands.
