The yenor saxophone is definately better because the notes are more powerful and less squeeky than the alto.
It sounds the same, you just need to push in the mouthpiece into the neck. Just like saying, what would happen if you played a tenor saxophone with an alto saxophone mouthpiece. I have played a tenor before with my alto sax mouthpiece. What I meant to say was to push the mouthpiece in more than you would on the alto saxophone neck. The first time I answered I didn't sign in.

Eb is better known as a sopranino. Bb Soprano sax is more popular, but alto (Eb) is more popular than either soprano or sopranino.

The neck starts at about 3/4 inch then at the middle of the saxophone is about 3 inches wide including the keys and depending on the model of saxophone. The bell of the saxophone is usually about 4-5 inches wide while on a big-bell alto saxophone the bell can be about 6 inches wide.

An (A) Flat on an Alto Saxophone is the same as a (G) Sharp, so the three top keys down as if you were going to play a (G), PLUS the key on the left side of the sax, the key where typically you would place your pinkie.
