All O2 sensors are threaded into the exhaust system at various points.
Four, two before the cats (upstream) and two after the cats (downstream).
My Chilton repair manual - engine wiring schematic shows ( 2 ) heated oxygen sensors for the 1993 Ford Explorer
I believe from 94 to 02 Lincolns do not have a light under the hood.
The pcv valve is in the dirvers valve cover top center and the 02's are in the exhaust close to the manifolds they are a pain to get to and very hard to see with out a lift. there are 2 sensors 1 on the driver side an passenger side. good luck
Most oxygen sensors are heated oxygen sensors.
The O2 sensors on a Lincoln LS V8 are located in two main areas: upstream (pre-catalytic converter) and downstream (post-catalytic converter). The upstream sensors are typically positioned on the exhaust manifold or close to the engine, while the downstream sensors are found after the catalytic converters in the exhaust piping. To pinpoint their exact locations, it's best to reference a vehicle repair manual or diagram specific to the Lincoln LS V8 model year.
The 02 sensors are in the exhaust pipes but don't know about the updraft sensors.
The Jane Whitney Show - 1992 1993-02-02 was released on: USA: 2 February 1993
There are 2 upstream 02 sensors just behind the exhaust manifolds, threaded into the exhaust pipes, one on each side. There are 2 downstream 02 sensors just behind the catalytic converters, one on each side as well.
The vehicles computer relies on the information from the 02 sensors and other sensors to adjust the engine for peak performance.
The o2 sensors screw in. There is a special socket for removing the 02 sensors with a slot in the side to clear the wiring.
