Maledivy
That would depend on where you are coming from.
India has two foreign islands (that are independent countries) as "almost" neighbours; the closer, Sri Lanka (southeastwards); the other, Maledives (southwestwards).
Divehi (or Dhivehi) is the official language of Maledives, a large group of islands in the Indic Ocean, not so far from the South of India, there existing an island in this country where it´s also spoken as an Indo-Aryan language, but as in Maledives also having some mixing with importantly Sinhala (from India), Arabic (from ancient merchants travelling there around), plus Persian (from new business groups after the "Great Discoveries"...), Portuguese (from pirates or so-called navigators-colonisers), French and English (both, idem) as well.
What is actually happening is that Global Warming is melting the ice at the poles of the Earth which makes the sea levels rise and in turn the islands appear to be sinking but actually the sea levels are rising.
