Modern vehicles are equipped with multiple temperature sensors. They are used to advise the engine computer and driver on the condition of the vehicle systems. Common automotive temperature sensors include coolant, transmission, ambient air temperature and engine oil.
The sensor is located near the front of the engine
No
On newer fuel injected vehicles you will usually need a new wiring harness and engine computer to match the engine you are putting in. You will also need various sensors for the new engine such as mass airflow sensors and intake air temperature sensors.
Answer , location of temperature sensorI just changed the Temperature sensor on my Pontiac and it was located on the engine block right underneath the throttle control.
An open thermostat would keep the engine from heating up to normal operating temperature. The sensors effected can only report what they sense. The "check engine" light may throw a code like "P0116" (engine coolant temperature circuit range/performance problem).
The engine type will vary from truck sonoma to sonoma, some may have a 1.9L, 2.0L, 2.2L, or 2.5L I4, or 2.8L, 4.3L, 4.3L Vortec V6.
The temperature sensor on a 1998 Sonoma is located in the engine compartment just to the left of the distributor. Look for a plastic part that looks like a bolt that is held on with a clip and a small wire harness. It is on the top of the manifold.
Where are the freeze plugs located on a 2003 GMC Sonoma 4.3L Vortec engine?
I have a 95 Sonoma. I use 5W30.
There are sensors all over the engine and transmission. There are also sensors at the wheel bearings and in the exhaust. There are sensors all over the engine and transmission. There are also sensors at the wheel bearings and in the exhaust.
The sensor is the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor, located under the EGR, on the side of the engine between the engine and the battery. Brass sensors can be bought at the dealer.
