There are many places that offer upright freezers which have a home section such as Target, Sears, Home Depot, etc. If they have a home appliance section, there is a high possibility that they will have an upright freezer
An upright freezer is designed to be stood upright in a vertical position whilst a chest freezer is stored horizontally. This results in the upright being able to fit in tight spaces however, it gives chest freezers more capacity space.
The pros of a chest freezer is that it can store more food in it. However, the con is that takes up more room than an upright freezer. A con of an upright freezer is that it doesn't have as much space as a chest freezer.

Who made montgomery wards upright freezer?
I bought the EVL201NXRQ recently and it works fine as a freezer and has some good features, BUT it should be placed in a garage or some other place that is out of the way, it is loud when running and I can hear it at night from my bedroom if it kicks on.I replaced a 35 year old Sears ColdPoint freezer with this and never thought to ask how loud a freezer can be.
The advantages to purchasing an upright freezer are probably that they have racks which make organising food easier and they have manual or self defrost models
a freezer is colder and is for storing food a garage is useful for storing many things and is alot bigger
Chest freezers for hold more then an upright freezer. The space in an upright freezer is significantly smaller than that of a chest freezer since an Upright freezer is both a fridge and a freezer.
Yes, the Avanti 2.9 cu ft Upright Freezer features automatic defrosting.
The life of the freezer depends on the conditions in which it is housed. If the garage is humid, hot or conversely very cold, then your freezer is better off inside.
