Most numbing agents that piercers can use are topical (surface of the skin) and take a long time to start working, and as they soak into the skin they tend to screw up the texture of the skin making placement of the piercing difficult. Injection numbing agents are not legal to be used by body piercers in North America. The body piercer needs to be a medical professional holding a valid license before they can use injection solutions. www.safepiercing.com

Is there any piercing shop in north wales were they numb your tongue before piercing it?

Simply put, tongue piercing is simple in the hands of a professional body piercer. There is no need for numbing agents or any other potions or lotions salves or balms. Just interview a few piercers find the one you feel most comfortable with and get the piercing done. Be sure you get your after care in writing and you listen to what you are told to the letter. But forget numbing because no professional body piercer will use any numbing agents on your tongue, there simply is no need for it.Body Piercing Guidelines or "I want a piercing, now what"All Body Piercing studios are regulated and work under regional and local health and city licensing regulations. What you may want may not be legal in your area so call and check with your local studios.Age limits can vary from city to city and state/province to state/province, contact your local body piercing studios (under the yellow pages "Body Piercing" ) they will tell you what the age limits are for your area.Identification is aways needed (Birth certificate, Student card, Drivers license) Parental consent is consent from the legal parents (Mother or Father). Grand parents, Sister, Brother, Second Cousin twice removed doesn't cut it sorry. Unless they are your legal guardians assigned by the courts and have documented proof or this, it just won't work.Prices for piercings vary from shop to shop and city to city. Be sure you phone and ask them what the total price is including any *aftercare solutions they may try to sell you (* Professional body piercing studios won't try to sell you aftercare solution, they will recommend cleansers and soaps but that's it if you want it they will sell it but they will not force you to buy it.)Do your research, check these places out and find a studio that you are comfortable with, talk to the piercer and discuss you wishes. If at any time you feel like you are being ignored or rushed leave, find somewhere else. Good shops will be busy, but they will also want you to book your appointment, this way they have their full attention on you not everyone else who is asking questions (that's a good thing).

Does getting your cartilage pierced hurt more with a needle or a gun?

You should never pierce your cartilage with guns. It will damage your body tissue and you will find a lump growing outside the piercing after a while. Guns are only safe for piercing the soft fleshy parts of your earlobes. Nowhere else. Safest is to go to a pro-piercing artist, he/she should use proper hollowed and sterilised or brand new needles to pierce. It doesn't hurt at all if the piercing is done professionally.

How old do you have to be to get you nose pierced?

You have to be born, so the piercing artist can reach your nose. But a lot of serious piercing studios have minimum age requirements for piercings irregardless of parents consent. Some have 14-15 years of age, others maybe 16 or higher. Probably possible to find people willing to do it on 12-13 year olds but this is not advised as piercing artists have those age requirements there for a reason.

Is a tongue piercing really painful without numbing solution?

Listen tongue piercing is simple in the hands of a professional body piercer. I am not going to list the procedure here or what is done and how, you need to know that a professional will walk you through the whole procedure when you get there. Gels and solutions on the tongue before piercing will interfere with the piercer's routine and could cause trouble If the thought of getting your tongue pierced is so bad that you need something for the pain then go find something else to do............seriously, piercing is not for you. You need to know professional piercers have worked hard and long to become as good as we are and when someone obsesses over getting a piercing it's not fun for us, it's annoying. You need to trust the piercer you are going to see, listen and pay attention to what they are telling you. I have preformed thousands of tongue piercings and they are all simple and easy from the client's point of view "painless". So think it over, book a time to go talk to the piercer and then when you are comfortable and ready, get it done. But save the numbing stuff out of it you don't need it.
