There are famous flower gardens all over the world. Keukenhof Gardens in the Netherlands boasts stunning displays of tulips in season. Versailles in France has a mixture of both flower gardens and topiary gardens. Longwood Castle is famous for it's display of roses.
Iris are used in rock gardens, and flower gardens. Florists use them for arranging. And there are some liquors that use iris root to flavor them.
Flower gardens are any sized plots in your yard where you plant and grow flowers for your enjoyment. In some instances, people will grow flowers in pots or window boxes, if yard space is not available. ( Balcony gardens, etc for those who live in apartments. ) It would still be considered a flower garden. Any flowers you grow. whether directly in the ground or in containers, are considered flower gardens.
When the weather is nice, I like to walk around my neighborhood to see the neighbors' flower gardens.
