first you study automotive. you can also work in an automotive field. most automotive type jobs (i.e. kragen, autozone, jiffylube, napa,) will start you out as an apprentice. if you don't want to do that, then collage is another way to go. most collages have A.S.E. certified classes. If you pass the classes, then you can attempt the A.S.E. certification tests, the problem is you MUST have two years experience to test (and have proof to show) or you cannot even register for the tests. Both work and college apart or combined will work. I tried to take my tests before I had two years and was promptly denied.
