When installing a printer to a Mac, first connect the device. The Mac will then search for devices required. Once found, they will be installed and your device should work normally.
Your problem is not the printer, the problem is availability of windows drivers for the printer. If you find appropriate windows drivers supporting the printer you should not have problems using your laptop with the printer*. *I have assumed that you have windows installed on your laptop.
As far as I can tell, you can't run an a920 on a Mac. They don't have the drivers to support it on OS
Yes, but, the printer/scanner has to have Mac drivers/software in order for the printer and computer to talk to each other. You can go online to the printer manufacturers web site and down load the latest drivers and the instruction manual.
Almost all the printer company's have jumped on the Mac platform so yes, Lexmark is compatible.BUT....As with any manufacturer not all models are Mac compatible so you should go to the printers web support site to see if they do have Mac drivers. The Mac has basic printing features, called "Plug and Play", but you may have to go to the printers web support site to get the latest pinter drivers for your particular printer model to enable all the options. It can take from weeks to months to get the new drivers for the next upgrade in Mac OSX. Windows has the same issues. If you have an older printer the printer manufacturer may not keep making updated drivers for every OS upgrade so make sure they have the drivers for all your older devices before upgrading any OS, Mac or Windows.
Drivers for the Canon LBP2900 printer can be found on the Kioskea website, the Softpedia website, the DriversCollection website, as well as on the official Canon website.
Usually they can be found on the printer manufacturers website.
The printer always works on a new Mac.
Yes, printers are (almost always) compatible to both PCs and Macs. Make sure you have the right drivers installed and that the printer is hooked up.
These can be found at the HP support and drivers website. The address is: http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html .
Canon supply a full range of Mac OS X drivers (See links below) for the MP610 scanner/printer. As long as you have the appropriate driver (last updated June 2009) for the version of Mac OS X you are running there should not be any problems.
The company that provides hp printer drivers is Hewlett-Packard, as they provide the drivers with the printers at the time of purchase. Depending upon the printer, the drivers are available for varying versions of Windows PCs and Mac PCs operating systems.
Some people have had success with the Lexmark X9350 drivers for Mac OS X (See links below) with a Dell 966. The Dell printer needs to be set up to work wirelessly from the panel on the printer. But the whole thing seems to be a bit hit and miss with no guarantee of success.
