duplex
To copy something front and back, you can use a printer with duplex printing capability. Simply select the option to print on both sides of the paper in your printer settings. If your printer does not have duplex printing, you can manually flip the paper and run it through the printer again for the back side.
First, for a printer to print on both sides of the paper without you having to physically flip it over after it's done printing on one side, it has to support Duplex printing. This can often be found out just by looking on the printer, Example: HP LaserJet M3035dn <-- where the d signifies duplex and the n is network. If there isn't anything like that on the printer, just check the manual :D Second, the printer driver on your computer has to have this feature enabled. If it is, when you're in a document and are about to print, a window pops up with the printer and some more into. Besides the printer name, in most cases, there is a button that says Settings, most of the time. Click that, and choose duplex printing. On many old style printers, it can say: Manual duplex, you have to turn the page. (Or something along those lines) For a more in depth walkthrough, read the manual that came with the printer :)
There are three forms of dialog.Simplex Dialogs - One way transfers, similar to an old computer/printer. Data could be sent to the printer but the printer could not communicate back.Half-Duplex Dialogs - Two-way transfers. Each device must take their turn. Both cannot transfer at the same time.Full-Duplex Dialogs - Two-way simultaneous data transfers. Each device has it's own channel. Telephones are full duplex, as are most modems. Full duplex is the most expensive to implement.

It depends on whether you have a printer which supports "duplex" printing. If your printer supports two-sided, or "duplex" printing, then when you print the essay, you need to go to the "Properties" menu (under Print) and make sure that "Two-Sided Printing" is enabled. Some printers also allow you to set it so that it prints two-sided for insertion into a binder, with extra room for the 3-ring holes. If your printer does not support duplex printing, then you can print all of the odd pages first, and then turn the pages around and re-insert them into the printer and print the even pages on the backside. Some printers have software or even hardware tools to assist with this, sometimes called "manual duplex".
