Mary Anning was the discoverer of many important fossils. She found the first correctly identified Ichthyosaur, the first two ever of the species plesiosuar, the first pterosaur skeleton located outside of Germany, and many other very important fossils.
Being able to grow to over 65 feet (20m), made Shastasaurus, a variety of ichthyosaur, the largest marine reptile/dinosaur species ever found.

Mary Anning found the icthyosaur on the cliffs of Lyme Regis off the coast of England when she was about 12 years old. her dog tray found it and she discovered that it was the full skeleton. Lyme Regis's cliffs are made of clay that encased and preserved the bone structure of the animals. i am researching her right now so this is really true- until someone changes it.
