It depends on what type of respirator you're talking about.
If you're talking about a tight fitting, negative pressure respirator, then facial hair can be worn as long as it doesn't interfere with the seal. Examples of tight fitting negative pressure respirators are 3M's 8210, 8511, 6200, 7502, or 6800.
Even in tight fitting, positive pressure applications, facial hair cannot come between the seal of the respirator to the face and fit testing is still required.
One of the main advantages of loose fitting positive pressure respirators is that more facial hair can be worn. Again, no facial hair can interfere with the seal of the respirator to the face but loose fitting respirators would include hoods like a 3M H410 or any 3M L Series headgear.
Read OSHA reg 1910.134 and 3M.com/OccSafety for more info.
It really depends on the style of the respirator and the length of the mustashe. You can have regular lengths mustashe with the Scott airpack models and there are alot of military pilots that sport a shorter mustache when using their respirators while flying.
"Respirator" is an old word used for the machine most health care personnel would today call a "ventilator". The only time I hear the word "respirator" used today is when talking about respirator masks, which are the specialized masks worn by health care workers when coming into close contact with tuberculosis patients.
Yes it was his real moustache.
A respirator mask with a P100 filter should be worn while sanding wood to protect against inhaling harmful particles.
The word respirator has no perfect rhymes.
Yes. Respirator only keep lungs going.
A Chicago mustache refers to a style of facial hair characterized by a thick, prominent mustache that is typically worn without beards or sideburns. It's often styled to be bushy and may have a slight curl at the ends, emphasizing a bold, vintage look. This mustache gained popularity in the mid-20th century and is often associated with a classic, masculine aesthetic. The term also evokes a sense of nostalgia and is linked to the cultural identity of Chicago.
No. A respirator and ventilator are alike, but different. A ventilator is what they out people on either life support or during surgery. A respirator is used to help breathing not do it for you! (:
